Move from Self-Doubt to Self-Proclaimation!

Often when we say something “can’t be done” what

we believe is “I can’t do it, I am not enough”. ~Karen Zeigler

If there is one thing that I see most in my coaching of women and the one thing that raises the greatest level of emotions in me for people is – SELF-DOUBT!  I have not met a person yet that does not have a passion for their dreams, a purpose behind them, and for the most part the skills and talents necessary to start their dream journey. Yet many never go out and get after it because of the ever present worry of self-doubt.

The Voice of Fear

The Voice of Fear

Whether you call it fear, worry or anxiety – it all has basically the same definition - a distressing uneasiness of mind aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined.  And the bottom line is that it is the single greatest factor keeping each of us from the goals and dreams we were created to achieve.

I know this fact first hand as it kept me stuck in a corporate career for 20+ years knowing that I was meant to speak and write. I certainly don’t regret those years and all the experience and wisdom I gained from being in the financial industry but when the market crashed again in 2007 I knew IT WAS TIME.

Perhaps you are where I was.  You know NOW is the time, NOW – not tomorrow, next year.  It is for you that I wrote the book “Freedom from Worry” and it is for you that I teach a FREE class via telephone and live so that you can get the courage and support to move NOW into the purpose you were created for.

Tired of Running?

Tired of Running?

Running, running, running.  Despite how out of shape most of us are, our culture is one that is on the run.  Running, running, running til near

exhaustion.

Do you ever stop to think why is everyone running? What are the running to?  What are they running from?  Why I am running?  What am I running to or from?  Often times we nor they don’t know the answers to those questions.  Or at least we haven’t stopped long enough to figure it out.  Today’s blog will hopefully give you a hint at what all our non-exercise running is all about. Aside from running as exercise there is only one natural cause that prompts us to run. Read the rest of this entry

Courage – Because Something Gotta Change

Courage – Because Something Gotta Change

I’m not sure whether I would consider myself a very courageous or fearless person. When I think about outward signs of courage

defined as having a spirit that enables me to face difficulty, danger or pain without fear I can only think of a few things.

  • The first was jumping off of a 40 foot high dive in high school at Wakula Springs for a new bikini from my boyfriend (now husband).
  • I also took up skiing in my 20′s and have conquered my fair share of black diamond runs. I wouldn’t say I’m a graceful skier but I can manage my way down the hill without breaking anything.
  • And the third was taking up the sport of horseback riding at 37. The fear of this one lasted a lot longer than the few moments it took to jump but in all three instances I conquered the fear. Read the rest of this entry

Relationships that “Click”!

Relationships that “Click”!

The quality of your relationships are equal to the quality of your conversations” according Margie Warrell author of Courageous Conversations.  I agree but I would go further to say that the passion and fullness of your relationships is equal to your willingness to speak courageously and listen graciously. Explained another way think of the individuals who you really just click with.  You can tell them what’s on your mind and vice verse and each of you get it! You don’t have to tip toe around any conversations. You can talk about anything with them and they with you. This doesn’t have to be a rare relationship.  When you are intentional in your conversations and communications you can have this type of relationship with everyone that is of importance to you.

10 Ways You’re Being Stupid in Life

10 Ways You’re Being Stupid in Life

My friend and Sales Trainer, Donlyn Turnbull is always stealing – I mean we are always passionately exchanging ideas. But this time it’s my turn.  Recently in the Sales Huddle South she talked tongue in cheek about Stupid things people do in business (which is also blogged in case you missed it!). So I decided to remodel her idea into 10 Ways You’re Being Stupid in Life.  So here we go.

Change is Good Because…

Change is Good Because…

For the most part people abhor change. Working in the corporate banking and investment world for 20 years I can say I’ve seen my fair share of change. It’s often painful, full of uncertainty and worry, and often takes us so far out of our comfort zone that we can’t even see our comfort zone anymore.  This change from corporate career to writer has many of the same aspects if that’s where I chose to focus.  But when our focus is positive and on the right aspects of change it can be good….even GREAT! So in case you are in the midst of a change and you’re are struggling to find the GREAT things about change, let me help you.  Change is good because… Read the rest of this entry

Life Lessons I Learned from My Horse – #4

Life Lessons I Learned from My Horse – #4

It’s funny how you think you have learned a lesson already and out of the blue with a tiny little incident you are reminded that it’s still something to work on.  I thought I had learned this lesson when I left the banking industry and went out on my own as an Financial Advisor. I don’t recall it being too big a deal when 2 years later I decided to open my own company as an Independent Advisor.  I was sure I had conquered it for good when I left the financial world to be a writer…but I guess not.

Life Lessons I Learned from My Horse – #1

Life Lessons I Learned from My Horse – #1

It’s been 10 years since I took up horse riding. Crazy how time flies.  Having never really ridden at 37 I can say it was quite an adventure.  I’m not sure I had ever in my life volunteered to deal with so much FEAR as I did when I purchased my first horse. My first horses was a mare named Spirit.  Mistake #1 purchasing a female. Mistake #2 purchasing a horse name Spiritfor a green rider like myself.  But I can honestly say she and the whole horse experience has taught me a lot.

I’ve been reflecting a lot on my horses lately.  One to muster the motivation to endure the heat and humidity to get out and ride because I miss the joy that it brings. Second amazed at how some of the lessons I’ve learned with my horses over the years so reflect life, it’s challenges and how God (our trainer) teaches us.
